Delivery and Assessment
This nationally accredited qualification outlines the essential skills and recognised standards for the responsible sale, service, and promotion of alcoholic beverages. It is relevant for anyone working in environments where alcohol is served, whether in a licensed venue, retail liquor outlet, winery, brewery, event space, or distillery.
Evidence and Assessment
- All assessments are open book, allowing you to reference your online Learner Guide and course material.
- Each assessment must be undertaken independently and reflect your own knowledge and understanding.
- Responses are evaluated as "Satisfactory" or "Not Yet Satisfactory" – you will not receive numerical marks.
- Constructive feedback will be provided for any answers that require improvement; resubmission is necessary until a satisfactory result is achieved.
- You are expected to present valid photo identification.
- Your trainer/assessor will review all submissions to ensure knowledge and skill requirements are met.
Assessment is divided into two categories:
Knowledge Assessment: Covers Victorian alcohol laws, compliance obligations, responsible service protocols, and your duty of care as a staff member.
Practical Competency: Assesses your ability to safely serve or supply alcohol and effectively manage real-world situations that can occur in beverage service.
