NSW Licensee Training

➤ RSA NSW Competency Card holders - Please note, in order to complete this course, you must have a current NSW RSA competency. If your RSA competency is expired/about to expire, Discover more about the 28-day grace period stipulated by Liquor and Gaming NSW. Successful completion of Licensee training will result in the automatic renewal of a current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) endorsement on the recognised competency card. 

➤ RCG NSW Competency Card holders -  You must present an RCG Interim certificate, RCG Refresher Interim Certificate or an RCG Refresher Completion Certificate issued within the last 90 days to enrol in Licensee training. 

This means you will need to complete the online RCG refresher if you completed a full RCG or renewed your RCG endorsement more than 90 days ago.”

To renew your RCG competency, you will need to complete the online RCG refresher course prior to enrolling with an approved training provider to do your Licensee training. 

Interstate RSA Holders: If moving to NSW permanently with a valid RSA from another state *see validity requirements below, upload proof of your RSA certificate into your training account upon registration for this course. 

You can obtain both your NSW RSA and Licensee endorsements on your competency card by completing Licensee training. You will be required to upload your appropriate RSA qualification to your training account as evidence of completion: 

Appropriate interstate RSA qualifications include:

➤ a national RSA statement of attainment or RSA refresher certificate from Victoria, the Northern Territory, or the Australian Capital Territory, issued within the last three years, or

➤ a national RSA statement of attainment from South Australia, Western Australia, Queensland, or Tasmania, issued within the last five years.

Job Trainer Australia is authorised by Liquor & Gaming NSW to provide ONLINE Licensee Training in New South Wales

It is a requirement to complete Licensee training for most:

➤ licensees

➤ approved managers and

➤ club secretaries

To register and enrol in this course you must already have an eligible Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate and;

If you are a holder of an RCG endorsement, this MUST be refreshed within the last 90 days to enrol in Licensee Training. 

➤ Interstate - If you are an interstate worker with an appropriate RSA qualification planning to become a licensee, approved manager or club secretary in NSW, you do not need to complete the NSW RSA Bridging course. You can obtain your NSW RSA and Licensee endorsements on your competency card by completing Licensee training. You will be required to upload your appropriate RSA qualification to your training account as evidence of completion:

NOTE:

☐ Completing Licensee training will automatically renew your existing RSA competency

☐ If you are a new licensee, you will need to ensure you have completed an RSA course and obtained an RSA endorsement on your competency card before undertaking licensee training.

☐ If you have an existing Licensee Training competency that has not yet expired, please do not enrol into this course as you may be eligible to complete the Licensee Refresher course. Please contact Liquor & Gaming NSW if you have an existing Licensee Training competency and want to complete the Licensee Refresher course. 

COURSE DETAIL

Licensee Training NSW

The Licensee Training course prepares you to meet the challenges of running a licensed business while promoting a vibrant and safe hospitality environment.

This course covers various key topics designed to support you:

Session 1: Overview of liquor regulation in NSW

Session 2: Managing your liquor licence

Session 3: Your responsibilities to manage alcohol-related harms

Session 4: Best practice strategies to prevent alcohol-related harms

Session 5: Compliance and enforcement

ASSESSMENT PROCESS

✩ Multiple choice questions presented after each module.

✩ Written response questions: Apply what you have learned by answering questions in your own words.

✩ Live Assessment: Students must respond to trainer questions in a 15-minute session.

The assessment process ensures that you acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully complete the NSW Licensee Training.

RESOURCES REQUIRED BY YOU:

To undertake this training, it is COMPULSORY that students:

➤ Upload and Provide a photo ID into the online training account. This could be a driver’s license, passport or photo ID.

➤ You must be able to read and write in English. If you have difficulty, we recommend you call us on 1300 020 615.

➤ Have a current valid RSA competency card. If you do not have a valid RSA card that is current, then you will need to complete the RSA NSW course, listed in our course menu.

➤ Reliable Internet Connection: A stable internet connection is crucial to undertake online training, along with access to a computer, tablet or smartphone with a camera, speakers, microphone and stable internet connection.

Can I do this course without an RSA?
You must have a valid NSW RSA card or a Interstate nationally recognised statement of attainment for RSA. If you do not have a valid RSA card, you should enrol in the Job Trainer Australia NSW RSA course

I did my RSA, but it has expired. Can I still do this course? 
You must have a valid RSA Competency Card. L&GNSW provide a 28 day grace period for cards that have just expired.

What will the training look like?
Training will be approximately 6 hrs (self-paced). You will have online modules to complete, after each module there will be a multiple choice assessment. at the end of your course you will speak to a Job Trainer Australia Trainer to discuss the course. Once you have completed the course, you will receive your interim certificate via email.

Yes! We are approved under Liquor and Gaming NSW to provide the RSA and Licensee Training courses. All our trainers are also approved, with extensive experience in the industry.
