DELIVERY AND ASSESSMENT
This nationally accredited qualification outlines the essential skills and recognised standards for the responsible sale, service, and promotion of alcoholic beverages. The SITHFAB021 unit is relevant for anyone working in environments where alcohol is served, whether in a licensed venue, retail liquor outlet, winery, brewery, event space, or distillery.
EVIDENCE AND ASSESSMENT
Assessment for this RSA certification includes several methods to demonstrate your competency:
• All assessments are open book, allowing you to reference your online Learner Guide and course material.
• Each assessment must be undertaken independently and reflect your own knowledge and understanding.
• Responses are evaluated as "Satisfactory" or "Not Yet Satisfactory" – you will not receive numerical marks.
• Constructive feedback will be provided for any answers that require improvement; resubmission is necessary until a satisfactory result is achieved.
• You are expected to present valid photo identification.
• Your trainer/assessor will review all submissions to ensure knowledge and skill requirements are met.
COURSE DURATION
The training materials typically take approximately six hours to complete, with an estimated additional two hours needed for all assessment activities. Actual completion time can vary based on previous experience.
Assessment is divided into two categories:
1. Knowledge Assessment:
Covers Victorian alcohol laws, compliance obligations, responsible service protocols, and your duty of care as a staff member.
2. Practical Competency:
Assesses your ability to safely serve or supply alcohol and effectively manage real-world situations that can occur in beverage service.
ENROLMENT AND PROGRESSION
Before registering and enrolling in the RSA unit, all participants must:
• Agree to the Job Trainer Australia RSA course terms and conditions
• Confirm their submitted assessments are their own work
• Understand the course refund policy
• Complete the course within three months of enrolment
Learners advance through seven (7) online modules at their own pace. Each module provides instructional content, support documents, streaming video, and resources required for assessment.

ASSESSOR REVIEW AND COURSE COMPLETION
