I have an interstate RSA — do I need to redo the full course for NSW?

No. If you hold a current RSA Statement of Attainment from another Australian state or territory, you can complete the shorter NSW RSA Bridging course instead of the full course. As part of your registration for the NSW RSA Course, you'll complete a brief LLND Skills Check. This quick assessment helps our accredited trainers understand your current abilities and identify any support you may need to successfully complete your NSW RSA training.

The process takes just a few minutes and includes:
Language and Literacy

Reading a short NSW RSA-related scenario.

Numeracy

Answering simple standard drink or age calculation questions.

Digital

Confirming your ability to use a computer, tablet, or smartphone for online learning.

Identification Requirements

Photo ID, USI and 100-point Service NSW ID check | RTO 45742

Photo ID

Provide a clear copy of an approved photo ID — such as a driver's licence, proof-of-age card, or passport — to verify your identity at the start of training.

USI
Unique Student Identifier (USI)

You must have a USI to receive your NSW RSA qualification.

NSW Competency Card — 100-Point ID Check

After completing your NSW RSA course, you'll receive an interim certificate (valid for 90 days) that lets you start work immediately.

To get your NSW competency card (with RSA endorsement), present your interim certificate at a Service NSW centre and complete a 100-point identification check.

Once issued, your competency card holder number is available immediately and the physical card is posted to your nominated address (allow up to one month). A digital competency card is also available via the Service NSW app.

Before you begin your NSW RSA training, make sure you meet these student requirements and system requirements for a smooth online learning experience.

Student Requirements

Active email account — for course communications and certificate delivery

Current photo ID — driver's licence, proof-of-age card or passport (also required for your Service NSW 100-point check)

USI

Pre-Enrolment Review (LLND) — language, literacy, numeracy and digital skills assessment. Required before enrolment

System Requirements

Smartphone or similar device — tablet, laptop or desktop with audio and video capability

Liquor & Gaming NSW will notify you 90 days before your card expires — provided your contact details are up to date.
